Slipping into white bed linen after day's cycling
There are a number of "first-rate" cycling events taking place this season, which could see B&Bs noting an increase in demand from weary riders.
After a day on two wheels, Britons may be looking for nothing more than a quick shower and to sink into some cosy white bed linen, before heading out on the road again the next morning after a hearty breakfast.
And B&Bs could boost their business by taking care to target cyclists if they know a biking event is taking place in their local area.
The Guardian reports that there are a number of cycling events taking place this spring, with Yorkshire being a particular hub for cross country mountain biking.
"It's the first time in a decade that England has hosted a leg of the World Cup - there are nine legs in total - and it will see the best mountain bikers from across the globe compete on the 6.5 km course," it explains.
It goes on to urge amateur bikers to sign up for the Dalby Dare, which is a mass participation race that is timed.
Targeting sporting events could be one way for B&Bs to increase their guest numbers, while they may also wish to stock up on restaurant supplies in order to provide a sporting breakfast.
Indeed, Erik Wolf, president of the International Culinary Tourism Association, has said quality food is increasingly important to holidaymakers.
