Cosmo’s newest branch will be a masterpiece of logistics and cuisine
Nestled alongside IKEA and MFI in Croydon’s Valley Leisure Park is a restaurant called Cosmo. But this is no ordinary restaurant; Cosmo can seat 800 people at a time, making it the largest in the UK. Boasting 10 live cooking stations, guests will be able to watch food being prepared before their very eyes; a fact rendered even more interesting by Cosmo’s choice of over 300 dishes from across Asia and Europe.
The Telegraph reports that Cosmo will employ 50 chefs, getting through a tonne of chicken every day. An all-you-can-buffet will cost just £11.99 on a weekday, with lunch for as little as £6. Their menu is described as “all the world on a plate”, and the Cosmo philosophy rests on the principles of fresh food, variety, showmanship, value, and customer service.
The Croydon restaurant will open on November 13th, the newest of twelve branches. A Cosmo will soon be opening in Swansea, and the company hope to expand to Manchester and Birmingham over the next three years. Between them, the existing restaurants currently cater for an incredible 25,000 diners a week.
With 800 seats, Cosmo is going to need a fair few tablecloths - they are, after all, the easiest way to keep a table clean, and the website claims Cosmo Croydon has "stunning, vast décor," which must include impeccable place settings. How many waiting and cleaning staff the restaurant will employ remains to be seen.
