Choosing hotel supplies and offers to entice brides
Hotels where a chunk of the overall revenue comes from hosting wedding receptions may wish to do more to encourage couples to hold their special day at the facilities, particularly now the credit crunch is prompting more people to cut back.
Whether they offer would-be brides and grooms the option of picking out the hotel supplies that best suit their budgets, or allow them to pick and choose the parts of wedding packages that most meet their needs, there could be plenty of ways for hotel owners to accommodate couples.
Rather than drastically cutting back on their wedding fund, Rachel Morgan, editor of Wedding Ideas Magazine, said that many brides are either saving for longer or getting smart about how they plan the day.
"I think they are looking for quite good all-inclusive packages still, but they are looking at their menus for instance, they are looking at set menus and breaking things off - changing it to suit their ceremony and their theme," she explained.
Hotel owners may soon find that they are piling their tablecloths high with cup cakes, after Baiju Patel, director of Cupcake Avenue, said they can be a "great alternative" to the traditional three-tier wedding cake.
