Brides 'could pin lottery tickets to wedding napkins'
Couples planning to get hitched are increasingly open to ideas beyond the traditional when it comes to wedding favours.
According to Darren Noel, commercial director, hitched.co.uk, one idea which is proving to be "really popular" is to wrap up or pin lottery tickets to wedding napkins to act as the favour given to guests at the dinner table.
"They are often bought a week in advance, so that the best man can read out the numbers as part of his speech. The couple then often get any winnings given back to them as well," Mr Noel explained.
Hotel owners may wish to advise any brides or grooms planning to hold their special day in the venue that the personal touch are proving particularly popular when it comes to favours.
Mr Noel explained that couples are getting creative and choosing to bake their own edible favours or write a personalised message to appear with it, while a luxury choice such as spa supplies could also prove popular.
However, traditional choices such as a box filled with chocolates or sweets is still a popular choice at thousands of weddings, he added.
In terms of table decorations, Elizabeth King, the wedding planner at Creative Wedding Planning, said purple is set to be an on-trend choice.
