Blackpool is the UK's all-time favourite resort among UK holidaymakers, it has been revealed.
Indeed, bed and breakfast and hotel owners in the town may wish to lay out their best hotel supplies, as the results of the Which? Holiday poll could see even more Britons flocking to its seaside.
The main draws of the resort include its holiday atmosphere and the annual illuminations, according to the survey.
Commenting on the result, spokesperson for Which? Rebecca Leach said: "The reasons people gave for holidaying in the UK were that the locations were easier to get to, they preferred holidays in UK, or simply that they couldn't afford to go abroad."
Lets Stay UK reported that there was a "dramatic" increase in the number of people choosing to take a holiday in Britain in 2009, which it claimed was predictable in light of the recession.
Indeed, seaside holidays such as those in Dorset saw a 20 per cent rise in the UK, while international getaways enjoyed by UK travellers went down 15 per cent.
