Two new hotels are to be constructed in Cambridge after council officials granted the plans their approval.
Plenty of new
hotel supplies such as
white bed linen may be required to kit out the new establishments, one of which will boast 157 rooms while the other will offer 219.
According to the BBC, the 157-room development will be located on Station Road in a seven-storey structure, while the other building will be situated on Newmarket Road.
Residents in the area had opposed the plants, with fears that the Newmarket Street project was too big and would lead to traffic problems.
However, Clare Blair, executive councillor for growth on Cambridge City Council, said the proposals had been given some careful thought.
"It does have some car parking on site and we are hoping that people will come not by car but by alternative means," she added.
Elsewhere, a former hotel in Bristol city centre is to undergo renovations to transform it into a guest house, according to the city's Evening Post.
