Purchasing new sheets is one way in which people can upgrade sleeping areas cheaply, but effectively.

This is the opinion of Warren Evans, bed and sleep specialist, who said there are a number of possibilities for revitalising tired bedrooms on a budget.

His comments may encourage hotels to consider buying new white bed linen, as he claimed changes such as these give areas "an instant facelift without breaking the bank".

Apart from investing in new bed linen, Mr Evans advised repainting rooms, decluttering spaces and paying out for new beds.

"To create a coherent room design, I would advise that the style and decor of the furniture all complement each other," he added.

According to research organisation Verdict, British people are increasingly seeing the value of bedroom supplies and furniture.

The firm noted the sector is expected to experience £79.4 million worth of growth this year, despite other areas of the home furnishings market struggling.
