Families 'feeling the pinch'
There is a "vast disparity" among UK adults when it comes to taking a holiday this year, new research has found.

While many young people are keen to prioritise spending the night in the wholesale bedding of a luxury hotel, Britons with families are finding it more of a struggle to go away, according to Tesco Bank.

Indeed, 39 per cent of 18 to 34-year-olds plan to spend more on going away this year than they did last year, while a quarter of 35 to 54-year-olds will be missing out on such a trip entirely in order to save money.

However, Britons could still enjoy a well-earned break by staying closer to home and finding out more about what the UK has to offer.

Indeed, TripAdvisor recently pointed out that London has plenty of free attractions to keep people entertained, with the Imperial War Museum being among the favourites.

John Howells, head of travel money at Tesco Bank, said: "Despite ongoing financial pressures for many people, it seems that holidays are being seen as a well deserved reward by many in 2010."
